Events Manager

As Events Manager at Central Library, Emily works hand in hand with clients to ensure all details are fulfilled for each event. She works closely with all vendors, library staff, and other industry professionals to create flawless events from start to finish. Emily is responsible for the overall development and management of department goals, annual budgeting and all marketing initiatives where she and her team focus on marketing the Central Library as a venue that is sure to ‘WOW’ its clients and their attendees.

Emily graduated from IUPUI in 2009 with a degree in Tourism, Conventions and Events Management and a certificate in Special Events Management. Prior to joining Central Library, Emily was formerly the Director of Sales & Event Operations for CIBUS, LLC at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where she played a vital role working with a staff of skilled professionals in the preparation and service of creative, cutting-edge cuisine and event design.

Janelle George

Venue Coordinator

As the Venue Coordinator, Janelle is responsible for highlighting the venue to potential clients, ensuring that all vendors are aware of event details from set up to teardown, and helping to make sure events are executed correctly. She is the main point of contact for our bridal clients and works closely with couples to ensure they have a satisfying experience with the library. By sorting out logistics and advising clients on best possible options for their events, Janelle hopes to build relationships with our clients that promote repeat business and referrals.

Janelle graduated from Franklin College with her Bachelor’s Degree in 2011. She went on to receive her Event Planning and Management Certificate from IUPUI.

Event Interns

Our internship program is designed to give students interested in the Events industry an opportunity to work with our Event Staff in planning, coordinating and implementing Events at Central. Interns will gain experience by completing event inquiries, assisting in the event planning process, working on-site at the events, handling office work, and completing a wide variety of other tasks that will give interns real, hands-on insight into an Event Planning profession.
